Billy Wayne Lyle, age 67, died Monday, April 21, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany, MS. He was born November 1, 1946 to Ary Clovis Lyle and Audrey Tomlin Lyle in Itawamba County, MS. He was a Baptist and a retired truck driver with Merchant’s Truck Line and an Army Veteran. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding 4 wheelers, playing his guitar, collecting Harley Davidson motorcycles and watching football on t.v., his favorite team was the Ole Miss Rebels.
Services will be at 2 PM Friday, April 25, 2014 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc, with Rev. Bobby Jarrel officiating; burial will follow in the Walton Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his four daughters: Jennifer Millsap (Herbert) of Tupelo, MS, Michelle Floyd (David) of Tupelo, MS, Ashley Morgan (Randy) of Plantersville, MS and Denise Jimenez (Jorge) of Verona, MS; one son: Freddy Plunkett of Fulton, MS; six sisters: Olean Wright of Fulton, MS, Audrey “Bonnie” Lyle of Pontotoc, MS, Sue Burns of Dyersburg, TN, Mary Jarrel of Picayune, MS, Pearlene Jarrel (Bobby) of Fulton, MS, Liz Williams (Eddie) of Fulton, MS; one brother: James Lyle (Nell) of Fairfield, AL; ten grandchildren: Wesley Millsap, Selena Morgan, Elisa Morgan, Alliyah Morgan, Brianna Morgan, Ally Morgan, Anica Morgan, Shawn White, Neal White and Kaylah Lyle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Charlene Underwood and Nelean Palmer and two brothers: Lee Lyle and Bobby Lyle.
Pallbearers will be: Robert Tyra, Lucky Brassfield, Herbert Millsap, Eddie Williams, Mike Walloch and Gerald Boge.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Thursday and from 12 to 2 PM Friday at the funeral home.
