Bivivian Buchanan

Bivivian Buchanan, age 78, passed away at her residence on Thursday, May 5, 2016. She was born to H.H. and Cathrine Raines Russell. She was a member of Hurricane Baptist Church and a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting and gardening.

Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Hurricane Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Merritt and Rev. Philip Brock officiating; burial will follow in the Warren Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter: Debbie Buchanan Murrah (Danny) of New Albany, MS; one son: Timothy David Buchanan (Reena Helms Buchanan )of Thaxton, MS; four sisters: Carolyn Dowdy of New Albany, MS, Helen Lee (Charles) of Senatobia, MS, Alter Burk (Denny) of Hernando, MS and Kay Britt(Al) of Thaxton, MS; two brothers: Hugh Russell(Barbara) of Parsons, TN and Bilbo Russell(Pat)of Pontotoc, MS; five grandchildren: Carrie Murrah Duran (Michael), Christy Murrah Knighton (Corey), Emily Buchanan Rayburn(Matt), Rachel Buchanan Woodward(J.D.) and Kaitlin Buchanan East(Ben); and five great-grandchildren: Hayden Duran, Cohen Knighton, Gibson Rayburn, Loralei Rayburn and Ananias East.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John David Buchanan, and a great-grandchild: Martha Collins Knighton.

Pallbearers will be: Kurt Thompson, Zuby Parrish, Phil Warren, Phil Robbins, C.R. “Doc” Graham and Chuck Lee.

Visitation will be 4 to 8pm Friday at the funeral home and from 10 to 11am Saturday at Hurricane Baptist Church.
