Claire Eugenia Howell

Claire Eugenia Howell, age 86, died Friday, November 21, 2014 at Sunshine Health Care in Pontotoc surrounded by her family. She was born September 30, 1928 to Joseph Leo Dennehy and Mary Moison Dennehy. She married Lewis Howell and they shared 47 years together before his death on June 30, 2009. She was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church in Pontotoc and she was a retired billing clerk. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening and flowers.

A Mass will be held at 11:00am on Monday, November 24, 2014 at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Pontotoc with Father Tim Murphy and Father Will Steinbacher officiating; burial will follow in the Pontotoc City Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is handling the arrangements for the family.

Survivors include her son: Sam Leo Howell of Madison, MS; her sister: Mary Pitts (Henry) of Pontotoc, MS; two twin grandsons: Ethan Conner Howell and Harrison Reid Howell; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister: Theresa Mahar.

Pallbearers will be: Eric Pitts, Patrick Bedgood and members of St. Christopher's Catholic Church.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm Sunday and from 10 to 10:45am Monday at the funeral home.
