Deborah Sue Edwards born 11 September 1950 in San Diego California to Kenneth J Andrews Sr and Dorothy R Berendt; went to be with our Lord on 20 April 2025 in Oxford Mississippi after a short battle with cancer. Deborah is preceded in death by her parents, her Step mother Jennie Andrews, her Brother Kenneth J Andrews Jr and stepsister Carol “Kessie” Wheat, and her children’s fathers James T Oliver I and David C Bailey. She is survived by her loving husband Richard Edwards, 3 children; James T Oliver II, Dorothy R McClure (John) and Anna M Vernon (Jim), 5 grandchildren; Dylon, Halie, Madison, Thomas and Lyra, 4 great grandchildren; Drew, Dylon, Tommy and Weston, Sister in Law Danielle Andrews, many nieces, nephews, cousins and her 2 pups Buddy and Tucker.
Deborah served in the United States Women’s Army Corp as a Radiology Technician then after many years of being a stay at home mom used her care taking abilities as a teachers aid, CNA and OB/GYN Medical Assistant.
Deborah’s caring and loving nature was apparent in everything she did, especially in being a mom. Being a mom to her not only meant loving and caring for her 3 children but their friends and her nieces and nephews as well. Anytime anyone needed a hug, a listening ear, stern advice, some sarcasm or a good laugh; they knew to stop by or call mom and she would be there.
Her love for animals showed in foster fails Ginger, Buddy and Tucker and the many pets we had growing up. She was a backyard bird enthusiast and squirrel watcher and took joy in the small things God showed us in nature.
Her favorite scripture was Psalm 118:24 “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad it in.” and she lived her life by this scripture even on her bad days.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 7, 2025 in Oxford, MS.
