Demetra "Dee" Denise McGregor

Demetra Denise “Dee” McGregor, age 58, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. She was the daughter of Linda Hamblin, the wife of Mark McGregor, the mother to Bobby De Maxey and Gina Maxey Hall (Jordan), grandmother to Maxey Kate Hall, Paisley Jane Hall, and Miley Hall. Her sister is Missy Hamblin, aunt to a special nephew, Richard Eli Hamblin; she was also referred to as “Aunt Dee” by many over the years. She enjoyed her time being a homemaker, babysitter to many whom she always loved as her own. She was a remarkable quilter, her best times were spent with her family, and especially being “Gran Gran” to her 3 granddaughters, who were her prized possessions. She was an exceptional caretaker to everyone she loved, even her pets, whom she loved dearly. Her absent presence on Earth will be a void for her loved ones that nothing can compare to.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Carlton Hamblin.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 12 to 3 P.M. at Browning Funeral Home, with the service to follow at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home, with Rev. J.J. McVay officiating. Burial will follow in the Turnpike Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home is honored to assist the McGregor family with the arrangements.
