Dorothy (Dot) Seale, age 76, passed away July 29, 2018 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. Dot was the daughter of Cator and Christine Hembree and a resident of Pontotoc, MS. She was a Christian, a member of West Heights Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years, and was a member of the Adult Choir and was a featured soloist.
Dot was a 1962 graduate of Ecru High School, where she was bestowed many honors and accolades.
Dot enjoyed outdoor activities, such as tending to flowers and feeding her birds. She was a colorful artist and loved animals, especially her “Perry”. She especially enjoyed singing with the Can-Do-Sisters, Sara Morton and Belinda Young. Dot looked forward to watching “her boys” on the PGA tour, each weekend.
Her greatest passion was her family. She was a devoted wife and mother. Her friendliness and kindness to all people, and her love for her family are a tribute to her heart and soul. Her infectious and inspiring presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to have known her.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Wallace and Dr. David Hamilton officiating; burial will follow in the West Heights Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be from 12 to 2 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Dot is survived by her daughter, Tina Seale Kollmeyer and her husband Will and grandson, Collin Michael Kollmeyer of Tupelo, MS; a sister, Nancy Reese and family from Rome, GA; and a brother-in-law, James Riley Seale and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Johnny and her son Michael.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Clark, Rodney Crawford, Ross Fleming, Tommy Morton, Marty Reese, Scott Reese, Randy Seale and Joe Young. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Colbert and Jimmy Stegall.
