

PONTOTOC – Harold Walker McCreight, 64, died July 7, 2015 as the result of an accidental drowning in the Tombigbee River. He was born September 23, 1950 in Pontotoc County to Waddie and Katie Frances Bryant McCreight He was a 1970 graduate of Algoma High School. He honorably served in the U S Army from 1970 to 1972. From 1972 until 2002, he worked at Futorian in Okolona, Mississippi. He was a member of Troy First Baptist Church. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, woodworking, gardening, and playing with the grandchildren. He was well-loved by his friends and especially his family. He will be truly missed and remembered always.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patsy Kay Matthews McCreight, daughter Brandy McCreight Patterson (Greg) of Tupelo, MS, son Brent Matthew McCreight (Krista) of Pontotoc County, MS, four grandchildren Mallie Kate Patterson (10), Walker Bryant McCreight (6), Mia Katherine Patterson (4), and South Grayson McCreight (6 mos); brother Kenneth Wayne McCreight (Anita) of Okolona,MS : 2 sisters Brenda McCreight Warren and Sandra Kay McCreight both of Jackson, TN and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Waddie Leroy McCreight.
Funeral services will be held at Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc, MS on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 2 pm with Bro. Greg Herndon officiating. Visitation begins at 1 pm and private burial following at Eddington Cemetery in Pontotoc County. Pallbearers will be Glen May, Timmy Matthews, Larry Lovell, Gerald Hester, Jimmy Prater, Tony McCreight, Joey McCreight, and Tim McCreight. Honorary Pallbearers are Thomas Gregory and Scott Warren.
Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association, The Gideon International, Tupelo Salvation Army, Monroe County Search and Rescue, and Wren Volunteer Fire Department.
