
Mary Helen Steward Gray, age 88, died Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Church Street Personal Care Home in Ecru. She was born June 3, 1923 in Pontotoc County to Earl and Sallie Steward. She was a member of Cherry Creek Baptist Church where she taught GA’s for many years, arranged flowers for the communion table for 40 years, and retired from Schwabe Shirt Factory after 37 years.
Services will be at 11:00 Friday, March 2, 2012 at Cherry Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Russell, Rev. Matt Russell, Rev. Andy Russell and Rev. Roger Reeder officiating; burial will follow in the Cherry Creek Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her son: Ronnie Gray (Sylvia); two daughters: Sylvia Moorman Tatum (Wayne) and Janice Russell (Rev. Jimmy); her grandchildren: Scotty Gray (Rhonda), Randy Gray (Michelle), Susan Farris (Donnie), Julia Stubblefield (Carlisle), Bennie Moorman, Jr. (Miranda), Bro. Andy Russell (Susan), Bro. Matt Russell (Marley) and Alan Russell (Allison); Great-Grandchildren: Dwayne Farris, Josh Farris, Penny Skeen (Matt), Mandy Gray, Trevor Gray, Justin Gray, Summer Gray, Anna Brooke Russell, Emily Russell, Hannah Russell, Mallory Russell, Cason Russell, Nathan Stubblefield, Alisha Stubblefield, McKenzie Moorman and Morgan Moorman; and one Great-Great grandson: Gavin Skeen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: William E. Gray, three sisters: Blanche Wardlaw, Lucille Lee and Sarah Steward, and one brother: Horace Steward.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff at Church Street Personal Care Home.
The visitation will be at Cherry Creek Baptist Church from 5 to 8 PM Thursday and from 10 to 11 AM Friday.
