Louanna Cox Fitts, age 84, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jackson. She was born on September 16, 1941, to Aubrey Cox and Patricia Cox Shannon. Louanna was a graduate of Pontotoc High School and worked at the Biloxi Regional Hospital in health information and billing. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pontotoc. Louanna enjoyed cooking, trying new recipes, exploring new places to eat and eating out with her friends, spending time with the “Ladybugs” and “facebooking”. She found great joy in spending time with her family and her fur babies, Xena and Eli.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 1:00 P.M., at First Baptist Church in Pontotoc, with Dr. Ken Hester and Rev. Jimmy Smith officiating. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is honored to assist the Fitts family with the arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Patti Raiteri, son-in-law, Barry Lynch, two sisters, Paula Shannon Anthony (James) and Julia Smith (Rev. Jimmy), a granddaughter, Amber Adams and three great-grandchildren,Jimmy, Alyda and Bobby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jerry Fitts, a daughter, Robin Raiteri-Lynch, two sons, Lawrence “Larry” Raiteri and Pete “Bubba” Raiteri, and a sister, Gayle Eubanks.
