Michael Ray Garrett

Michael Ray “Mike” Garrett, age 65, died Friday, April 25, 2014 at NMMC in Tupelo, MS. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was a 1966 graduate of Ecru High School and MSU. He was Coach and in Management for several years. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, playing guitar, spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend.

Services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with Rev. Jonathan Baker officiating; burial will be in Ecru Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years: Peggy Gregory Garrett of Tupelo, MS; his daughter: Shan Garrett Henderson (Brad) Jonesboro, AR; his son: Scott Garrett (Nell) of Ecru, MS; one sister: Dian Sneed (Phil) of Ecru,MS; two brothers: Ricky Davis (Lisa) and Ronnie Davis (Jane) both of Ecru, MS; his mother-in-law: Robbie Gregory of Friendship, MS; four grandchildren: Michael Jacob Garrett, Maggie Laura Garrett, McKenzie Grace Garrett and Anna Garrett Henderson; two step-grandchildren: Lizzie Tutor and Justin Tutor; and a special cousin: Randy Horton (Sherry) of Tupelo, MS.

He was preceded in death by his Mother and Step-Father: Bill and Wilma Craig Davis; his Father: Winston Ray Garrett; his maternal -grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie “Fox” Craig; and his Father-In-Law: Fred Gregory.

Pallbearers will be:Jordon Tutor, Jerry Tutor, Jared Tutor, Jerry Dudley, Berry Dudley and Hal Leslie.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Saturday and from 12 to 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
