I am so sorry to hear of Michael's death. He was a very special young man and such a nice student. I remember how many times he used his tractor to cut the grass in that big lot behind our house on Davis Street. Billy & I both thought he was one of the hardest working, friendliest young men we knew.
He will be missed but one of these days you will see him again. That thought kept my spirits up many times after Billy died. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Ms. Charlene and Tracy,

We are so sorry to hear about Slick. We did not even know he was sick. It has been a while since I have seen you all but wanted you to know that Michael was a special friend. I will always remember the good times we had when we lived in Pontotoc. I still remember the wings of the plane he built being in Ms. Charlene’s living room and will never forget him taking me up in it once it was finished. I am sorry Michelle and I were not able to be there today, but know the Tallant family is in our thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,
Mark and Michelle Sansing

Tracy, I really admired your and Michael's marriage, You were perfect for each other! I have never forgotten our trip when Michael flew the four of us to that river for a guided fishing expedition. It turned out cold and rainy, but you put that smile on and were determined to have a good time. We played cards that night and the next morning you and I went in one boat with a guide and Michael and Ricky got in another boat with a guide. You did well flinging the line way out into the water! I never got the hang of it and was miserably cold. I think the guide was getting frustrated with me. Suddenly, he slipped in the wet boat and was about to fall overboard. He grabbed on to me to keep from falling into the cold water, but I just pitched him on over. He did not find it amusing, but I did!

I love telling that story! My (probably) only fishing trip ever in my life....(I think we had a really good meal in the lodge later that day, though!)) And they had peacocks walking around!

Anyway, thank y'all for inviting us. I'm sure you have lots of awesome memories with Michael that will comfort you in the coming days. I will be thinking about you, sweet friend......

Love, Melinda
