Judge Phil Weeks, age 59, died Saturday, November 13, 2010 at NMMC in Pontotoc. He was a member of Algoma Baptist Church. He was born in the Gershorm Community to Thomas Fermon Weeks and Ida Beatrice Dotson. He attended elementary school at Gershorm and graduated from Algoma High School. He had served as the Justice Court Judge for the West Side of Pontotoc County for the past fifteen years, the Judge for the Town of Algoma for the past two years and was an alderman for the Town of Algoma for seven years. He enjoyed playing dominos, fishing and watching MSU football games.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Algoma Baptist Church with Rev. Don Smith officiating; burial will follow in the Old Monroe Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Linda Stegall Weeks of Algoma, his two daughters: Misty Holley (Mark) of Algoma, MS and Jennifer Caldwell (Tommy) of Algoma, MS; his three brothers: Sherald Weeks (Phoebe), Terry Weeks (Eltrice) both of Pontotoc and Steve Weeks (Patricia) of Noxapater; his brother-in-law: Blake Martin of Algoma, MS; four grandchildren: Claire Caldwell, Maggie Caldwell, Brayden Holley and Grayson Holley, numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Dorothy Martin and Diane Weeks and one brother: Noel Weeks.
Pallbearers will be: Bruce Martin, Lee Weeks, Kevin Weeks, Gerald Weeks, Milfy Weeks, Jeremy Stahl, Daniel Stegall, Will Dodd and John Dodd. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Law Enforcement Officers.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home and from 12 to 2 PM Tuesday at Algoma Baptist Church.
