Robert Edward Chapman Sr.

Robert E. Chapman, Sr., went to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, March 4, 2016. He was born October 16, 1932 to James Benjamin and Patty Duke Chapman in Yazoo City, MS. He was a skilled craftsman and contractor, a faithful follower of Christ, and enjoyed singing and whistling.

The service will be at 1:00 PM Monday, March 7, 2016 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with Dr. David Hamilton officiating; burial will follow in Pontotoc Memorial Gardens. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc will be directing the service.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley Chapman; a son, Robert E. Chapman, Jr. (Dee) of Pontotoc, MS; two daughters, Cheryl Griffin (Roger) of Wingate, NC, and Renee Hamilton (Jamie) of Monroe, LA; a daughter in law, Susie Chapman of Pontotoc, MS; a sister, Christine Pittman of Conway, AR; eleven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Larry S. Chapman, an infant grandson, Roger R. Griffin, Jr., a sister, and three brothers.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Chad Chapman, Drew Chapman, Will Chapman, Justin Brock, Jerrad Griffin, Jonathon Brock and Trent Griffin.

Visitation will be from 11 to 1 PM Monday at the funeral home.
