Sibyl Peden

Sibyl Elizabeth Crenshaw Peden, age 92, died Monday, January 7, 2013 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born on July 2, 1920 to John Payne Crenshaw and Minni Ozell Atkins Crenshaw. She was retired from Delta Trouser and was a homemaker. She had a special love for children and taught Sunday school and Bible School. She was always eager to help others and loved working in her church and community. She loved her family and working in her flower garden and had a talent for arts and crafts.

Services will be at 3 PM Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with Rev. Fred Hartley officiating; burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her niece: Sue Houpt of Tupelo, MS; one nephew: Tommy Peden of Pontotoc, MS; two great nieces: Ginger Towrey and Candice Sloan and one great nephew: Andy Houpt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Waymon Peden, two sisters: Earline Summiers and Ruth Cates, a brother –in-law: Ferrell Peden and a sister-in-law: Annie Lou Peden.

Pallbearers will be: Jim Houpt, Andy Houpt, Gary Carroll, Tony Carroll, Donny Roye and Leith Roye.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday and from 1 to 3 PM Thursday.
