Charlene McDaniel Travis

Mrs. Travis was born June 4, 1929 in Stillmore, Mississippi to Charlie and Lula Belle Ward McDaniel. She was a retired typesetter with the Bogalusa Daily News and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Travis; two sons, Kelly Travis, Kevin Travis; one grandson, Cody Smith; and her stepfather Allen Amacker.

Family members include two daughters, Karen Bryden, Kathy Smith; three brothers, Robert Amacker, Gerald Amacker, Larry Amacker; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be at BETHEL BAPTIST CHURCH, 7451 Highway 43 North, Poplarville, MS, 39470 on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 11:00 am. Rev. Billy Kent Smith will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Monday at the church; and continue on Tuesday two hours prior to the service.
