Somewhere it’s two o’clock, Chuck has said to the people that he loved and adored. Born January 4, 1943 in New Orleans, Charles and Frances Kohler Armond, Sr. raised Chuck with his three brothers in the Ninth Ward. Eventually, the family moved to Chalmette where he attended Our Lady of Prompt Succor Elementary and finished high school at Holy Cross as a standout football player. After playing football at the University of Southern Mississippi, he returned home to marry his childhood sweetheart, Karen Riess on December 19, 1964 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, where they met each other years before. Gaining a 30 year career at Tenneco/Mobil in 1966, Chuck did not quickly gain coworkers, but friends. After acquiring property in Mississippi during the 1970’s; hunting, fishing, and football were the threads that bound him to the ones that meant most.
Gone, but not forgotten, Chuck will be sorely missed by all who came to know him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepmother, Grace Armond; three brothers, Richard, Gary, and Larry; and his grandson, Chaz Mendoza.
Family members include his devoted wife of 48 years, Karen; two daughters, Cherie (Rick) Sharp of Metairie and Julie (Ricky) Sylvera of Slidell; grandchildren, Malorie Mendoza, Madison Bergeron, Rae Lynn Sharp, and Bailey Sharp; great-grandchildren, Hailey Mendoza, Charles Mendoza, Isabella Mendoza, and Brielle Scrivano; and one grand-daughter by marriage, Illiana Mendoza.
