Charles Edward Harris Jr. “Chuck”, 68, of Poplarville, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his family. Chuck was born in Poplarville on January 1, 1958 to Charles and Maudie Bell Harris.
Chuck is a life-long resident of Poplarville, where he met his loving wife, Vicki, and they raised their 3 children. He worked for the City of Poplarville Water department for 32 years.
Chuck enjoyed spending his time on the Pearl River fishing and camping with his wife and family. He also enjoyed hunting with his boys. His grandchildren were his greatest joy. Chuck had a way of making friends everywhere he went and rarely met a stranger. He was known as “Papa” or Uncle Chuck to many.
Chuck was known for his baseball talent, which he loved to share with others. He coached many years of little league baseball, and touched the lives of so many. He was a member of Whitesand Baptist Church, and was very strong in his faith. Being unable to walk without a walker did not stop him from loving and serving his precious Lord. He loved his church family, and they always made sure that they loved on him. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly.
Chuck is preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarance and Geneva Harris, Arthur and Lucille Odom; his parents, Charles and Maudie Bell Harris, and his sister, Cynthia Gail Harris.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 42 years, Tullie Victoria Harris “Vicki”; his three children, Shannan Harris (Tasha), Jeremie Harris (Jacey), Erica Jones (Junior); ten grandchildren, Levi Jones (Hailey), Brooke Jones, Marlee Harris, Hayden Harris, Hadleigh
Harris, Haysley Harris, Rylee Jones, Kaylie Smith, Kaleb Ladner, and Ivy Martin and one great-grandchild, Asher Wayne Jones.
Family and friends are invited to attend graveside services for Charles E. Harris Jr. “Chuck”, Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 10am, Whitesand Baptist Church Cemetery, 2037 MS-26, Poplarville, Mississippi.
