Charles High, 76, of Poplarville, Mississippi, died on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in Merit Health Wesley, Hattiesburg, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be at WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 315 Highway 11 South, Poplarville, MS, 39470 on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 12:00 pm. Pastor Oren Spence and Pastor Rodney Burns will officiate the service. Private burial will occur at a later date. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 10:00 am until services, Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. High was born March 29, 1940 in Shafter, California to John Monroe High and Gertrude Steers High. He was a retired oilfield and pipeline dispatcher. In addition to his parents, several brothers and sisters precede him in death. Family members include seven sons, Billy Joe High, Charles E. High and spouse Betty High, Johnny High and spouse Brandy High, Rusty High and spouse Shay high, Daniel High and spouse Autumn high, Tommy High, Michael Montgomery; three daughters, Cheryl Fortner and spouse Monty Fortner, Sherry Cookmeyer and spouse Billy Cookmeyer, Lynn Huerta and spouse Chris Huerta; two brothers, Bob High, Bobby High; three sisters, Pearl Thompson, Edna Shaffer, Linda Faye High; the mothers of his children, Billie York, and Linda Joyce High; thirty seven grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren.
