Mr. Penton was born May 27, 1935 in the Santa Rosa Community of Hancock County, Mississippi to Jack Penton and Eloise Hyatt Penton. He was retired from T.L. James Gravel Pit and was a member of George Ford Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and above all, spending time with his beloved family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Wilhelmenia Penton; siblings, Juanita Bennett, Lorraine Mixon, and Teet Ramsey.
Family members include six children, Jeff Watts, Chris Watts, Ray Penton (Shelly), Glen Penton (Jackie), Darlene Archer (Joey), Timothy Penton (Sheila); a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family, friends, and neighbors.
Funeral services will be held at White Funeral Home, 315 Highway 11 South, Poplarville, MS, 39470 on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Tommy Hudnall will officiate the service. Burial will follow in George Ford Landmark Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Carriere. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Derek Penton, Jade Brown, Erick Brown, Zach Penton, Bryson Penton, Greg Shearburn, Lindsey Penton, and Justin Archer.
