Darold Pritchard, age 87, departed this life into God's presence on Friday, September 19, 2026. Darold was a hardworking and dedicated man whose life was defined by his commitment to his work, his community, and the many relationships he built along the way.
A member of the Mississippi Homebuilder's Association, Darold spent many years as a custom homebuilder. He took great pride in his work and in serving his clients and customers, building not only homes but lasting relationships with the people he had the privilege of working with. His strong work ethic also led him to work as a farmer, mineral rights explorer, and oil field worker throughout his life.
Beyond his work, Darold was known for his generous spirit and enjoyment of bringing people together. He especially loved hosting crawfish boils for friends, clients, and customers—creating opportunities to share good food, laughter, stories, and fellowship.
Those who knew Darold will remember him as a hardworking, dependable man who valued people and believed in the importance of relationships. His legacy lives on through the homes he built, the work he gave himself to, and, most importantly, the many lives he touched through friendship and service. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Robert Pritchard; one daughter, elaine Owsley and four siblings.
Left to forever cherish Darold's memory, his loving wife of 60 years, Ruth Pritchard; one daughter, Donna Matte; two sons, Robert Pritchard and Chris Pritchard (Ann); one sister, Carol Corzine; one brother, Dale Pritchard (Jackie); one son- in-law, David Owsley; four granddaughters, Tasha, Stephanie, Julie, and Jennifer and 8 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend Darold's visitation, Wednesday, September 23, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at White Funeral Home, 315 Hwy 11 South, Poplarville, Mississippi. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026 for 10:00 am at Rester Cemetery, 5 Mill Creek Road, Poplarville, Mississippi.
