Diane Pretus Dobbs departed this life into God’s presence on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at the age of 79. Diane was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on November 9, 1945 to Herbert Benedict and Rowena Guidry Pretus. A proud graduate of Chalmette High School, Diane embraced the life of a devoted Air Force wife to her husband and father of her two children. Together, they traveled widely across the United States before eventually returning to Chalmette. As the Marketing Director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Diane used her deep compassion to serve others. She was a skilled cook, an avid traveler, and was known for her impeccable fashion sense. Diane was a lifelong New Orleans Saints fan, embodying the spirit of her city through every triumph and setback. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Rowena Hanle. Left to forever cherish her memory are her daughters, Deana Nunez (Rob) and Danielle Dobbs, both of Poplarville, Mississippi, granddaughter, Emily Virgina Nunez of Chalmette, Louisianna; her sister, Deborah Chartier (William) of Picayune, Mississippi; brother, Herbert B. Pretus Jr. (Jan) of Springfield, Louisiana, brother-in-law, Glen Hanle of Shalimar, Florida and a host of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in her honor. Diane will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
