

She was born June 19, 1936 in Greenville, Mississippi. In her mid-20s she met her husband, of 45 years Marius Lobo who was at the time was a well-known entertainer on the mississippi gulf coast. She later became his lead backup dancer. Later the lobo family moved to New York City where they then opened and established one of the largest restaurants in the city at the time. After moving back to the gulf coast the sixth grade drop out, Ms. Lobo in her 40s while juggling three children and a marriage went on to obtain her bachelors degree in women’s studies. As the mother of a deaf son Ms. Lobo felt led to become an advocate for the deaf by becoming an interpreter in numerous settings, such as; schools, courts, church’s, etc…
In her later years she liked to spend her days praising the Lord, loving her family, and studying the Bible.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Wilkenson and Lottie Mae Parr; her husband, Marius; one son, Mark Joseph Lobo, Sr.; four sisters, Pauline Trotter, Betty Lobo, Mary Lobo, Sue Parr; and one son-in-law, Joe Boone.
Survivors include her daughter, Jayne Boone; son, Marius Lobo; grandchildren, Vallarie (Michael) Lacey, Samantha (Houston) Hook, Tiffani Lobo, Abigail Lobo, Abraham Lobo, Levi Lobo, Mark Lobo, Jr., Danielle Lobo, Amber Barrowman; great grandchildren, Kaylynn Buskirk, Michael Allen Lacey, Cole Buskirk, Emma Lacey, Reagynn Beech, Ellie Beech, Tripp Beech, Phoenix Guijar, Kennedy Peterson, and Hazel Peterson.
Funeral services will be held at Plainview Baptist Church (2506 Silver Run Rd, Poplarville, MS, 39470) on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends and have visitation one hour prior to the service. A burial ceremony will be in Mendenhall City Cemetery (469 E Court Avenue, Mendenhall, MS, 39114) following the ceremony at 2:30 pm.
