Eastman "Farrell" Holden

Farrell grew up in the White Sand community of Poplarville, a place that remained close to his heart throughout his life. He was a lifelong member of White Sand Baptist Church, where his faith and connection to his community were an important part of his life.

During his younger years, Farrell was a standout athlete at Poplarville High School. His love for sports continued long after his own playing days were over. For many years, he gave his time to the Poplarville Athletic Association, coaching basketball, football, and baseball and helping encourage generations of young athletes.

Farrell enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially working in his garden and restoring antique tractors. He was also an avid Alabama football fan and loved cheering on the Crimson Tide. More than anything, Farrell treasured time spent with his family and friends. The memories made together throughout the years will continue to be cherished by those who loved him.

Farrell was a retired real estate agent and mortgage broker. In 1978, he married the love of his life, Ronna Martin Holden. They shared 30 years of marriage together until her passing in 2008.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ronna Mae Holden; his parents, Lamar and Alberta Holden; his brother, James Oliver Holden; and his sisters, Alice Faye Wubbenhorst and Elaine Kennedy.

Farrell is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Stewart; his children, Toni and Michael Weldon, Logan and Lauren Holden, Lacey and Justin Sones, Allison Patterson, and Marsha and Lance Stewart; and his stepson, Marty and Sarita Baker.

He was also blessed with 21 grandchildren: Makenna and Andre DeNicola, Braxton Dodd, Blakeney Dodd, Melissa Weldon, Logan Weldon, Lydia Weldon, Amelia Holden, Asher Holden, Annistyn Holden, Maebry Sones, Deacon Sones, Duke Sones, Whitley Sones, Alandra and Trent Wilson, Allonah Patterson, Drayson Patterson, Keaton Landry, Karagan Landry, Buffy and Derek Douglas, Bethany and Dylan Angeron, and Bailey Baker.

He leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Murphie DeNicola and Beckham Wilson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will remember him fondly.

Farrell lived a life rooted in faith, family, community, and the things he loved most. Whether he was coaching ball, tending his garden, restoring an antique tractor, cheering on Alabama football, or simply spending time surrounded by family and friends, he found joy in the people and traditions that meant the most to him. His life touched many, and the memories, lessons, and love he leaves behind will continue to live on through his family for generations to come.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Farrell Holden on Monday, September 14, 2026 at Oak Hill Pentecostal Church, 604 Oak Hill Road, Poplarville, Mississippi. Family visitation will begin at 4:30 pm. Farrell's Memorial Service will begin at 5:00 pm. Following the service, please join the family for food and fellowship as they continue to celebrate his life and share memories together.
