Elsie Bernice McCardle departed this life into God's presence on Friday, October 16, 2026, at the age of 92. She was a lifelong member of Silver Run Baptist Church. Elsie worked at Movie Star for over 30 years. She loved to work outside and in her flowerbed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Waylon McCardle and grandson, William Quentin McCardle.
Elsie is survived by, one son, William A McCardle (Rosemary); two daughters, Sylvia Dianne Traub (Charlie) and Velma Lynn Burge (Ron); one sister, Doris Havard; five grandchildren, R.W. (Tracy), Tonya (Justin), Emmy (Charlie), Kayla and Maegen (Jay); 13 great-grandchildren, Rhett, Reece, Valery, Ella Claire, Nathaniel, Brooklyn, Tyler, Makalyn, Amelia, Lannie, Derek, Gabe and Dakota; two great-great grandchildren, Carter and Kingleigh; one granddaughter-in-law, Nicole McCardle Penton; several nephews, nieces and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend Elsie's graveside service on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 for 2:00 pm at Landrum Cemetery, 781 Hickory Grove Road, Lumberton, Mississippi.
