Evans Joseph Mitchell Sr.

Mr. Mitchell was born December 26, 1936 in Echo, Louisiana to Arno Mitchell and Lizzie Guillott Mitchell. He was a retired drag line operator with Bertucci Construction in New Orleans and a member of White Sand Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ada H. Mitchell; one brother, Vorris Joseph Mitchell; two sisters, Virgie Verdigets and Verdis Watson.

Family members include five children, Susan Mitchell, Evans J. (Cheryl) Mitchell, Jr., David (Mildred) Mitchell, Sandra (Delos) Williams, Ricky (Lisa) Mitchell; three siblings, Mazel Landeche, Hazel Williams, Odell (Lucy) Mitchell; eleven grandchildren; and twenty two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at WHITE SAND BAPTIST CHURCH, 2037 Highway 26 West, Poplarville, MS, 39470 on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 11:00 am. Rev. David Steele will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 9:00 am until services, Thursday at the church.
