H. Gerald Williamson

Funeral services will be at WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 315 Highway 11 South, Poplarville on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Joe Beach will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Society Hill Cemetery, Columbia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Williamson was born January 20, 1928 in Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi to Herston Williamson and Sarah Langston Williamson. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Poplarville. He was an United States Air Force Veteran. He was a retired computer specialist with Stennis Space Center and Michoud Assembly Facility. He was an alumnus of the University of Southern Mississippi, graduating valedictorian of his class. He was an avid supporter of The University of Southern Mississippi, and with his family he attended every home football and baseball game for many years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Kenna Williamson, Donald Killian Williamson, Herston Williamson, Jr., Will Lee "Bill" Williamson, Jr.; two sisters, Maude Montgomery, Sara Carraway; and one granddaughter, Cassie Baxter Smith.

Family members include his wife, Delores Powell Williamson; one son, Michael Gerald "Jerry" Williamson (Debbie); one daughter, Judith Baxter; one sister, Cristelle Ashley; two grandchildren, Donna Baxter, Jill Lehmann; five great-grandchildren, Ashtyn Baxter, Lindsey Storrs, Audrey Lehmann, BreAnn Smith, and Nace Storrs.
