Born March 21, 1926 in Vardaman, Mississippi he was a retired iron worker and a United States Navy Veteran serving during World War II in the South Pacific. A member of First Baptist Church in Picayune; he was an inactive Deacon and an active member of Gideon’s International.
Survivors include his wife Berryl Culver Taylor; three sisters, Frances Ashburn of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Dorothy Austin of Park Ridge, Illinois, and Joan Haven of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Beulah Dell Kendall Taylor; and one sister, Reba White.
