Iris Finn Simoneaux

Iris Finn Simoneaux was called home November 9, 2022, at the age of 96. Iris was born in Hammond, LA, on November 7, 1926 and lived in New Orleans, LA, where she worked as an office administrator. In the late 1970’s she and her husband, retired to Poplarville, MS, where she was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of opening a restaurant. Simoneaux’s Restaurant was a staple in Poplarville for many years. Even long after the restaurant closed, Iris was stopped by customers complimenting her on her cooking. She was known for her short stature, good cooking, quick wit, crochet work, and crossword puzzle talent. She attended St. Joseph Church, in Poplarville, MS.

She is preceded in death by her husband of over five decades, Clifton (Biff) Simoneaux, Jr., and her son, Clifton Simoneaux, III. Also, a sister Gloria Finn Garcia (Emmett), and two brothers, Neldon Finn (Patsy) and Ronel Finn (Tee). She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Simoneaux, son, Craig Simoneaux (Stacy), eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be buried with her husband in New Orleans, LA.
