

Mr. Henson was born in Arkansas and a thirty-three year Native to Mississppi. He was a heavy equipment operator; a United States Marine Corps Veteran, serving on active duty from 1952 until 1955; and in the United States Marine Corps Reserve until 1960. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal; Korean Service Medal; and the United Nations Service Medal.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Moody Henson and Harvey Henson; one sister, Betsy Henson; one half-sister, Wanda Washington and his parents, Walter Henson and Elzora McGrueder Washington.
A loving father of two sons, Terry (Deanna) Henson and Samuel Henson; four daughters, Betty Henson Meredith, Elizabeth (Steve) McDaniel, Garbriella (Danny Lowery) Pervel, and Carmel (Bobby) Dunn; two half sisters, Betty Washington Saxie and Martha Washington; four half brothers, Wiley Washington, Tommy Washington, Larry Henson, and Donald Henson; two sisters-in-law, Betty Henson of Blytheville, AR and Betty Henson of Liberty, MO; twelve grandchildren, Michael Henson, David Henson, Hannah (Yngue) Stiensen, Joseph Henson, Terrance (Danielle) Henson, Bradley (Sarah) Sheffield, Justin (Whitnie) McDaniel, Marissa Carlson-Gray, Matthew (Kristen Fayard) Pervel, Michael Pervel, Michal Dunn, and Ariel Dunn; nine great-granchildren, Boas Stiensen, Sarah Henson, Jeremy Henson, Cayden Sheffield, Conner Sheffield, Malachi Gray, Aden Gray, Landen Gray, and Brycen Pervel.
Friends are invited to attend graveside funeral ceremonies at 2:15 p.m, Saturday November, 24, 2012 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Garrett and McGill Road, Poplarville, Mississippi 39470. The family will receive friends and have visitation Saturday, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home, 315 Highway 11 South, Poplarville, Mississippi 39470.
