Janet Sue Coppage

Janet Sue Fair Coppage, 90, a resident of D’Iberville, Mississippi, passed away on September 27, 2026. She was born in 1936 in Los Angeles, California, to Charles McKeen Fair and Mildred Janette Fair.

During her career as a Senior Administrator, Janet worked as a medical receptionist and later for the Defense Investigative Service. She was married to USAF SMSGT Bart Edward Coppage Sr. until his passing in 2016. During their marriage, Janet and Bart were stationed at and traveled to many places around the world.

Janet was a loving mother of three, grandmother of eight, and great-grandmother of seven. She is survived by her brother, James Allen Fair; her sister, Judith Fair Cromer; her daughters, Cheryl Coppage Slobodian and Karen Coppage Bristol; her sons-in-law, Christopher Bristol and Travis Holbrook; and her daughters-in-law, Holly Coppage, Laura Bakken Slobodian, and Kayla Bristol.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Lauren Castillo, Ashleigh Holbrook, Janet Coppage, Nicholas Slobodian, Alexander Coppage, Ryan Bristol, Warren Bristol, and Matthew Slobodian; and her great-grandchildren, Sofia, Blaise, Liam, Hazel, Lane, Grace Lily, and Lucy.

Her son, Bart Edward Coppage Jr., preceded her in death in 2023.

Janet was a member of First Baptist Church of Biloxi, Mississippi. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found comfort in the words of Jesus in John 14:1–4:

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”

Janet’s remains will be interred with her beloved husband at Barrancas National Cemetery at Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, Florida.
