J.B. Hodge

J.B. Hodge, age 86 departed this life into God's presence on Monday, June 30, 2025. He was a faithful member of Oak Hill Baptist Church of Poplarville, Mississippi. J.B. loved the Lord dearly and he was very passionate about getting his grandchildren and great-grandchildren involved in Church. He was a very hard worker who worked from daylight to dark and was a retired welder and then spent the rest of his days as a Beef Cattle Farmer. J.B. was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. He found joy in telling stories and was an amazing storyteller. He loved his family immensely and adored his son and grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Wilburn and Tina Hodge and seven siblings, Wilbur Hodge, Billy Hodge, Dale Hodge, Athalea Penton, Lita Rea Hamilton, Ernestine Stapleton and Doretha Pike.

Left to forever cherish J.B.'s memory is his loving wife, Donna Hodge; one son, Jeffrey Hodge (K.K.); one sister, Judy Parker; one brother, Everett Hodge (Audrey); four grandchildren, E.J. Hodge (Megan), Conner Hodge (Macie), Andrew Hodge (Cynthia) and Crystal Seals (Jordan); three great-grandchildren, Jude Hodge, Ella Hodge and Callan Hodge; a host of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend J.B.'s visitation on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Oak Hill Baptist Church, 579 Oak Hill Road, Poplarville, Mississippi. His funeral service will begin at 11:00 am, burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
