Joan Howard Rider

Joan Howard Rider, 64 of Lumberton (formerly of Picayune), passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020 at her residence. Mrs. Rider was born June 25, 1955 in Picayune to Lloyd Eugene and Molly Craft Howard. She was a retired commercial artist with the Audubon Zoo and a hairstylist. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, James Keith Rider; stepfather, Ray Merle (Smokey) Frierson; three sisters, Deborah Howard, Pamela Howard, Jeanie Smith; and her first husband, Frank Strickland. Family members include her husband, James Rider; two children, James (Nancy) Strickland, Ronda Strickland; two grandchildren, Michael (Ericka Stringfellow) Strickland and Hannah Strickland. Funeral services will be held at White Funeral Home (315 Highway 11 South, Poplarville) on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 2:00 pm. Private burial at a later date.
