Kent Gerard Glapion Sr.

Kent Gerard Glapion Sr. left this world into God’s care on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at the age of 71. Kent was born on June 25, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Lawrence Glapion Sr. and Millie Parker Glapion. After completing high school, he left New Orleans to join the United States Marine Corps as a Military Police Officer. After serving his country for four years, Kent returned to New Orleans where he worked as a Police Officer for NOPD, Delgado Community College, and Charity Hospital until 1990. Kent furthered his education to become a traveling nurse from the early 1990’s until his retirement. Kent dedicated his life to serving others and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Sr. and Millie Glapion; two sisters, Joyce Glapion Ware and Lynn Glapion Ard and four brothers, Melvin Glapion, Errol Glapion Sr., Byron Glapion Sr. and Elliot Glapion. His transition is mourned by his sister, Brenda Glapion Lewis and his brother, Lawrence Glapion Jr.

Left to forever cherish his memory are his children, Kenya Glapion (Jonathan), Kent Glapion Jr., Jared Glapion, Kendrick Woods, Danielle Woods, Quianna Glapion and Kendra Glapion; grandchildren, Keneisha Dortch, Kaitlin Glapion, Kennede Glapion, Kentrell Glapion, Breanna Davenport, Jayla Valentine, Khaleyia Valentine, J’Brea Valentine, Winter Stallings, ZaMya McCollum, Tacoby Medious Jr., Zioni Woods, Kendric Woods Jr., Kamaree Woods, Kaiden Woods and Keniyah Woods. Kent also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 09, 2023 at 11:00am at White Funeral Home of Poplarville. Friends are invited for a time of fellowship and remembrance of Kent from 10:00-11:00 am with the Memorial Service starting promptly at 11am.
