

Funeral services will be at SPRING HILL BAPTIST CHURCH, 60 Powell Ln, Lumberton, MS 39455 on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A lifelong resident of Pearl River County, Mississippi, "Ms. Leta" was born April 7, 1907 to Arthur Robert and Ella Tyner. She was a lifetime member of Spring Hill Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, played the piano, and was the director of WMU for many years. A graduate of Pearl River Junior College, she attended Mississippi Southern College, and taught at Loyal School for a number of years. Later in life, she was a Dorm Mother at Pearl River Community College; a receptionist at White Funeral Home; and an active member of the Ladies' County Extension Service, where she won several awards as an excellent seamstress.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Lowe and his wife Joy of Denham Springs, LA, Laverne Lowe and his wife Gwendolyn (June) of Laurel, MS; seven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and fourteen great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
