Funeral services will be at WHITE FUNERAL HOME, located at 315 Highway 11 South, Poplarville, MS, 39470 on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 12:00 pm. Rev. Larry Head will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 10:00 am until time of services, Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Whitten was born October 19, 1939 in Poplarville, Mississippi to Argel and Maxine Peters Amacker. She was a retired nurse with the Pearl River County Hospital.

Family members include her daughter, Vickie (Robert) Southern; five siblings, Joyce Talley, Jerry “Buddy” Amacker, Joann Talley, Lionel Amacker, Lois Farmer; four grandchildren, Jared Nuccio, Justin Nuccio, Gage Whitten, Jade Whitten; three great-grandchildren, Julia Nuccio, Brenna Nuccio, Kayleigh Nuccio; a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Whitten; and one son, Jimmie Whitten.

Pallbearers will be Jared Nuccio, Gage Whitten, Jade Whitten, Kelly Farmer, Clay Farmer, and Jamie Farmer. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Nuccio and Mike Amacker.
