Louis Smith

Mr. Smith was born September 9, 1926 in Derby, Mississippi. He was a retired campus police officer with Pearl River Community College; a United States Navy Veteran; and a member of Juniper Grove Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Thomas and Madie Jarrell Smith; his first wife, Betty Nelson Smith; one son, Louis A. Smith; six brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Mary Dell Smith; one son, Robbie (Donna Baxter) Smith; three grandchildren, Brice Smith, Sean Merrill, Ryan Merrill; a host of great grandchildren; and his daughter-in-law, Charlotte Smith.

Services will be held at The Beginning s Church, 217 Highway 11 South, Poplarville, MS, 39470 on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Juniper Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until services, Thursday at the church.
