

Captain Norman D. Hall a proud veteran and esteemed Mariner, passed peacefully on June 11, 2026 at the age of 88. Through a remarkable lifetime of service, including serving his country in Korea, his time as a Merchant Marine, and guiding vessels as a dedicated Captain he touched many lives.
Born on March 19, 1938 in New Albany, MS, to Felix and Minnie Hall. He grew up with a deep sense of duty and profound love for the sea. Responding to the call of his country, he enlisted and proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. His time in the service shaped his character instilling in him the discipline, courage, and leadership that would define the rest of his life.
Following his honorable military discharge, he found his true calling on the water. He worked diligently to master the open ocean, earning the credential as a Captain. He navigated waters near and far, bringing expertise and steadfast leadership to his crew until his retirement.
Beyond his professional achievements Norman was a devoted family man, a loyal friend and pillar of his community. His salvation and faith provides comfort to those he is leaving behind. He was a member of Hickory Springs Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Felix D and Minnie C. Hall; wife, Brenda Hall; son, Alvin Hebert; two brothers, Sam M Hall and Guy R Hall; grandson, Joshua Gene Smith; two great-granddaughters, Tatum Rose Hancock and Jovie Marie Hebert.
He is survived by his children, Steve (Anna) Hall, Janet Hebert, Johnny (Darlene) Hall, Lizzie (Mark) Hollifield, Norma Hall, Shannon (Jeffery) Williams, Cathy (Bart) Barnes, Patrice (Craig) Schmidt, Amanda (Roger) Hargrove and Johnny (Anna) Phan. Brother Joseph Hall; 35 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; a host of extended family and friends who will miss his steady hand, his wealth of stories and his boundless wisdom.
A celebration of Captain Norman D Hall's life and military service will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 with family visitation at 9:30 am, friends at 10:00 am and service beginning at11:00 am, at White Funeral Home, 315 Hwy 11 South, Poplarville, Mississippi. Graveside services will immediately follow at Hall Cemetery.
Military Funeral Honors will be rendered to commemorate his service in United States Army.
