Mrs. Sadie Delhoste Young

Sadie Delhoste Young, 93, passed away on Sunday January 23, 2011 in Poplarville, MS. She was born January 25, 1917 in Acme, LA to the late Louis Arthur Delhoste and Minnie Lee Barr Delhoste. She was a resident of New Orleans and a retired teacher of the Orleans Parish Public Schools. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollas U. Young, Sr. She is survived by her son, Hollas U. Young, Jr. and wife Al Sira, Metairie, LA and daughters, Gylde Young Fitzpatrick and husband Richard, Poplarville, MS and Carol Young Furlow and husband Ronnie, Slidell, LA; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mae Moreau, Mildred Brouillette, Willie Katharine Ferris, and Emily Goux. Mrs. Young was a charter member of Elysian Fields Baptist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend services at White Funeral Home in Poplarville, MS; Wednesday January 26, 2011. Visitation will be held from 9am to 10am with services at 10 am. Graveside services to follow at 2pm at Lakelawn Park Mausoleum in New Orleans, LA.
