Salvatore Serio Jr.

Salvatore C “Sam” Serio Jr., 79, was called home May 15, 2024. Sam, a native of Algiers and resided in Chalmette. He spent time at his second home in Poplarville, MS. and with his daughter. He loved the outdoors always building or fixing something, enjoying the peace and quiet, scenery and animal life of the country. He loved movies, music, concert going and a NASCAR fan.

He worked for Local 60 for over 50 years, traveled all over the country to construction sites, including Alaskan pipeline and rebuilding New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. He was affiliated with several companies during his career such as Lou Con, Goode and Air Products. He was Air Force Reserve and attended Southeastern University.

Preceded in death by his father, Salvatore C. (Sam) Serio, mother, Leotha “Lee” Trahan Serio Younce and brother, Gerald “Jerry” Serio.

Survived by his daughter, Suzette Serio; his dog, Dixie; former wife, Cynthia “Cindy” Simoneaux; grand-dogs and sister, Sandra.

At Sam’s request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Animal Adoption Society, Inc, 313 Telly Road #83, Picayune, MS 39466, and greatly appreciated.
