Vernon "Aubrey" Gipson

He was born in Derby, MS on August 14, 1931 and attended Pearl River Junior College (PRC) where he received his associates degree in business and later University of Southern MS where he received his bachelors in business. He was the oldest of five children born to Randal Griffith Gipson and Verdie Mae (Saucier) Gipson. He was a dedicated member of several Baptist churches in Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi.

He was a veteran of the Air Force serving in Mississippi, Texas, California and Japan. Following his Air Force service he worked for GMAC and AmSouth Bank in the finance area.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years Peggy O. Gipson; brothers, Doug, Ray and his parents, RG and Verdie Mae.

Aubrey is survived by his three sons, Vernon Dane (Donita), Owen Eric (Linda) and Skyler Scott (Marilyn); eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and two siblings, Stan Gipson and Nell Cowart.

Family and friends are invited to attend Aubrey's funeral service on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at White Funeral Home, 315 Hwy 11 South, Poplarville, Mississippi for 10:00 am. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. Burial will follow at Carriere First Baptist Church Cemetery with Brother Billy Galloway officiating the services.

The family wishes to thank the staff at The Terrace Assisted Living Facility, staff at SRMC of Pace and Emerald Coast Hospice for the love and care given to Aubrey during his stay.
