Mrs. Veronica Lynn Barras Smith

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 22, 2011 at 2:00 pm at White Funeral Home, Poplarville for Veronica Lynn Barras-Smith, 25, of Poplarville, Mississippi who died April 19, 2011. Brother Mike Wells will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Poplarville.

Veronica was born April 20, 1985 in Metairie, Louisiana to Denny and Ruby Fikes-Barras. She worked at Domino’s in Poplarville and was a member of Bayou Talla Ministries in Kiln, Mississippi. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Lewis Fikes; and her paternal grandparents, Patrick and Bernice Barras.

Veronica is survived by her husband, Shaun Smith of Poplarville, Mississippi; parents, Denny Barras of Metairie, Louisiana and Ruby Barras of Poplarville, Mississippi; maternal grandmother, Dorothy M. Fikes of Poplarville, Mississippi; two sons, Shaun Smith, Jr. and Marcus Smith; two daughters, Bobbie Jo Smith and Sarajane Smith, all of Poplarville, Mississippi; three brothers, James D. Barras and wife Liz of Poplarville, Mississippi, Daniel L. Barras and wife Hope of Metairie, Louisiana, and Mark P. Barras of Poplarville, Mississippi; three sisters, Michelle B. Treadaway and husband Bruce of San Antonio, Texas, Yvette B. Burst and husband Scott of Metairie, Louisiana, and Leah R. Barras and partner Steven Head of Poplarville, Mississippi; four nieces and seven nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at White Funeral Home, Poplarville.
