Ashley Kristina Savic

Fought a courageous battle with cancer, passed away at home with her loving family by her side on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the age of 27.

Predeceased by her father Danny and grandparents Lily and Stojan Savic.

Ashley is survived by her mother, Sheila; her sister Brittany; nephew, Kaiden; as well as her grandparents Hepie and Gerry Van den Broek and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins;

Born and raised in Port Alberni, Ashley moved to Nanaimo in 2006 to further her education, working towards being a community service worker. Her goal was to work with children. She loved being in the outdoors whether it be hiking and walking all the different trails around Nanaimo, camping, fishing or just being by the ocean. She was also part of the Relay for Life in Port Alberni for 4 years which held a close place in her heart. Ashley loved music, dancing, shopping for clothes and spending time with her many friends. She had a smile that Lit up any room that she walked into. Ashley loved her family and always enjoyed spending time together during family gatherings. She faced each day with a smile on her face all through her prognosis. She has been an inspiration to many with her strength and courage and her outlook on life.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, March 26, 2012 from the Chapel of Memories Funeral Home, 4005 – 6th Ave, Port Alberni, BC. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.chapelofmemories.ca
