Betty Lou was born in Kimberly BC in 1930. She lived in Kimberley, Victoria and primarily Comox while growing up. In 1960 she, her husband Des and two children moved to Port Alberni where Des got steady work in the Pulp Mill. Betty remained a devoted homemaker throughout her married life – cooking, baking, cleaning, babysitting and nurturing her entire family. Betty and Des resided in Port Alberni until their deaths. Betty suffered a long and disturbing battle with Alzheimer’s disease for 6 years but is finally at peace. She has joined her husband (Des McLellan), mother (Jane Howard), brother (Wayne Howard) and sister (Eunice Fielden) in heaven.
A private family gathering will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty Lou’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society of BC, #20, 601 West Cordova St, Vancouver, BC, V6B 1G1.
