Carmen Moyen passed away in Port Alberni on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at the age of 84.

Predeceased by her loving husband Albert and her son Loren, her sisters Lena & Hilda, brother Armand and her parents Joseph and Marie.

Survived by Norman (Cindy), Dianne (Denis), Annette (Doug), Paulette (Rob) as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren – all her greatest treasure!

Carmen moved to Port Alberni at a young age from Quebec. The family lived on a houseboat at the Harbour as well as in town and out Beaver Creek.

Carmen was always the happiest surrounded by her family over many dinners or family bbq’s. Always smiling and giving the best hugs!

Always busy, she loved to crochet, sew, cook and spent a lot of time boating, camping, travelling and making memories. She opened a store called Carmen’s Creative Gift Boutique in the mall where she spent many happy years creating gift baskets.

Although she enjoyed many adventures Carmen’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. The family would like to thank Dr. Van de Merwe, Dr. Williams, Doctors, Nurses and Care Aides at West Coast General and Echo Village as well as her Private Home Care Aides for the compassion and kindness shown to our Mom.

According to Carmen’s wishes, no formal service will be held.

I am very sorry to hear the loss of your beloved Nan. She was kind, gentle, generous, loving and so very very beautiful! Carmen was a true family Matriarch and she was so very loved by many, she had those wonderful ”Nan” hugs along with a gentle genuine happy voice when ever she greeted you. Her beautiful gift baskets, especially at Christmas time were such a delight. My deepest heartfelt condolences and hugs to you all.

I offer my condolences on the loss of sweet Carmen. Wayne and I were neighbours of Carmen and Al for many years and enjoyed our visits. We especially enjoyed those times we sat around their fire pit and enjoyed some of Al's rhubarb wine. Thank goodness our house was down hill from theirs. Good memories all around.

Dear Moyen Family,
I was saddened to hear of Carmen's passing. Carmen always had a smile and cheery disposition. I've know Carmen since her days of Carmen's Creative Gift Boutique. My friend and I would see her all the time especially when we had a kiosk in the Mall and at Craft Fairs. She was a beautiful soul, inside and out and will be truly missed. Hugs, Jane
