Predeceased by her parents Murial and Sam Whittaker, brother Jack Whittaker and son Gord Henstridge. She is survived by Earl, her husband of 58 years; son John Henstridge (Anita); daughter Barb Semchuk (Rick); grandchildren: Lacey (Aaron Escuin), Chase and Dezirae Henstridge and Lance Semchuk (Krista Kulczycki) and Daryl Semchuk (Skyla Roberts); great grandson Tyson Semchuk as well as other relatives and friends.
Kay was a true stay at home Mom. Family was everything and she never missed an opportunity to do something special for someone whether it was Christmas tarts, homemade jam or one of her beautiful knitted or needlepoint creations. She also enjoyed the outdoors, especially those family camping trips.
A celebration of her life will take place from 1:00 – 4:00pm on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at the Alberni Search and Rescue Hall, 4790 Tebo Avenue, Port Alberni. Cremation has taken place.
