Survived by his loving wife, Dolores; children, Lorna, Amy, David; 8 grand children; siblings, Al, Helen and Howard as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mel moved from Ucluelet to the Alberni Valley at an early age. he worked for Canada Post for 35 years until his retirement in 2003. Mel loved to travel and he and Dolores drove across Canada twice and circumnavigated North America once. He also traveled all over BC, but being a child at heart his favourite place to go was DisneyLand.
Viewing will be held for 7:00pm – 8:00pm, Friday, June 24, 2011 from the Chapel of Memories, 4005 – 6th Ave. Funeral Service will take place at 10:00am, Saturday, June 25, 2011, at the Chapel of Memories, with Bishop Erin Badesso officiating.
