I still can't believe he's gone, even after being at the  Celebration, seeing all who came  an shared stories,  an all these written  condolences, showed how much he was respected an loved. my heart is heavy. Donny we will miss that smile an twinkle in your eye...Heather , Colleen an families, sending hugs.

In Remembrance of Donny

I remember the first time I met Donny.  Mark Spence introduced us when we went to visit him in the hospital after he had had a bad motorcycle accident on the Tofino  Hwy.  Donny was a bit of a rebel...as we all were back in those days.  Actually, we were all pretty lucky to have survived some of the dangerous fun we had as kids.

Donny, was "drop dead handsome"...with jet black hair, dark eyes & skin.  And all the girls loved him.  He was 21, and I, 17.  I felt really fortunate and the envy of all the girls.

My parents, a little speculative at first, (probably because Donny had 2 black eyes at the time) came to love him in very short time.  My Dad considered him a son and loved him as much.  My sisters, (a bit freaked out because of his eyes) had great fun putting on his makeup for the Halloween party we were going to.  He made four more adoring fans that night.  My sisters!

A year later we were married and Darrin was born!  We were young parents but we were thrilled to have our beautiful baby boy!  Time to grow up.....but it took a while.  Actually, when I think back on those years....I feel that Donny & I grew up together.  Our boys, Darrin, Cody & Ronnie bore witness to it.  Donny was so proud of them.  He was a loving father always and worked hard to provide them with a nice life.  And it was.

I was so happy for Donny when he met Heather.  She has become a part of our family and was truly Donny's life companion.  Thankyou Heather for also being such a loving step- Mom to our children.

I am so sad that he has left this Earth.  

I truly believe that once you have loved - nothing can diminish that.  Even though the courses in our live may change....the love you shared will always be.

And good times with the kids at Darrin's house. I wish to express my condolences to the Palmer family at this very sad time. Donny was a close friend of my late brother Mark, and a permanent fixture at our home growing up. He will be missed.
