He spent his early years in Prince Albert and then his family moved to B.C. He had the love of his life and adventure. His family spent many summers camping. In 1985 he moved to Port Alberni and that December he was set up on a blind date and met his wife.
He loved to create either cooking, building cars or working with wood. He always said that the fun was in the building of the project, not the finish of them. There was always a project going on in the shop, there are still a couple of unfinished ones.
He loved to travel. There were many camping trips when his children were small and then cruises and road trips with his wife and friends in later years. He was able to travel throughout Canada and the US as well as a few trips to Great Britain, Europe and Australia. His favorite country to visit was Scotland.
He was always young at heart. He always said “18 till I die”
He was predeceased by his parents, James and Mabel Elliott, in-laws, Vern and Vera Mason and a brother in-law, Guilbert Stewart.
He is survived by wife of 38 years Lorna, and sons Andrew and Sean. A sister Lynda Stewart, brother-in-law Lorne (Brenda) Mason and sister-in-law Heather (Claudio) Damiani as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation has taken place and by request, no service. No flowers please but if you wish, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice.
