George William Adams

Survived by loving wife Vera; daughters Jackie (Ken), Gwen (Doug) and Kim (Ralph); grandchildren Marty (Leah), Chrissy (Greg), Trisha (Scott), Amy (Greg),Michael (Katrina), Chad and Dezarea; great grandchildren Cassie, Nicholas, Lauren, Jack, Alex, Anna, Gwen, Adam, Cian, Ezme and Danaka; extended family Leanna; sister Margaret Lyle and brother-in-law Dave; nieces Carolyn and Marilyn; nephews Bill, Don & Jim; brother-in-law Gene Leippi and family Teri, Jim and Leslie and many cousins.

George was born and raised in the Alberni Valley and worked in the valley as well. During the years of 1953 – 1958 he was enlisted in the Navy and stationed on the West Coast. It was during this time he met and married Vera and the couple started their family. Before retiring he reached the position of steam engineer for Weyerhauser. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather to his family and when possible liked to spend his time fishing, moose hunting in the BC Interior, wood working and reading John Grisham and McLean’s Magazines. He also enjoyed playing floor curling through the Sunshine Club, watching Hockey and doing crosswords. He will be dearly missed by all.

According to George’s wishes, a gathering will be held at a later date.
