MANSON; George Donald following a brief bout with cancer, George passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side in the West Coast General Hospital on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 65 years of age. George was born in Islay, Alberta on April 20, 1947 and moved with his parents to Port Alberni at age 1, where he has lived and worked ever since. George worked in a number of positions and places throughout his career but was most proud of the company he formed and built with his 2 sons, Manson Renovating. Even with all the busyness of having your own business, family always came first. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his family. George also loved the outdoors, hunting and especially fishing. He was considered a legendary fisherman and often consulted about what was biting or what bait to use.
A celebration of his life will take place at 11:00am on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home, 4005-6th Avenue. Cremation has taken place. Stories and condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.chapelofmemories.ca.
